AltSys Eyes
Expansion Security
Systems News - April, 2001
SPOKANE, Wash.-Digital video
manufacturer AltSys expected to move into a new building by the end of
April, providing the growing company with a 60,000 square foot facility
and room for future expansions.
The new location follows steady
growth for the company, which recently signed a $7.5 million sales
contract with product distributor Tri-Ed over a two year period, according
to Colin Campbell, chief executive officer of AltSys.
"Our company is growing at a rate of
about 500% "said Campbell. "We expect to do more than $10 million in sales
for 2001 and more than $30 million in the next 18 months."
Campbell attributed the growth to the
company's value added services. He said the company, which imports digital
video products, will "custom build" digital video recorders to customer's
needs, provide free software upgrades and offer an advance replacement
program. The program helps eliminate the wait for a replacement for a
system that need repairs or other changes.
While AltSys is a relatively new
player in the security industry, it has already completed one acquisition.
In September, the company acquired Cascadia Systems, an Idaho-based
company that provided AltSys with some established digital video
products.
Besides offering digital video
cameras, AltSys also customizes personal computers. Campbell stared the
company five years ago with business partner Wade Taylor in a one-bedroom
apartment.
